Show Your Art’s First Artist Field Trip: Greenwood Art Collective on April 11th!

Poster for an artist field trip event at Greenwood Art Collective on Friday, April 11th, 6:30-8pm, featuring artists Sarah and Jill, with painted tentacles and art supplies.

On April 11th, 2025, over 40 new and emerging artists came together for Show Your Art’s first-ever Artist Field Trip to the Greenwood Art Collective.

Before the tour began, we gathered outside the building (no one got lost!), and from there, we explored the wonderful Greenwood Art Collective, home to seven unique gallery spaces in a basement space, and got a behind-the-scenes tour led by Jill (resident artist and co-curator of Mutiny Gallery) and other members of the collective.

Artists from all different backgrounds joined in, and the night was full of great questions, conversation, and connection. Wandering through each of the galleries, the artists were able to directly talk to each of their members and they gave direct insight into how to submit art as a guest artist and shared the collective’s strong ties to the local Greenwood community.

Special thanks to the galleries of the collective: @sugarwall.gallery @mutinyartgallery @moonrisemavens @happytime_apocalypse @venngallery @briar.web.gallery and The Waiting Room.

I was incredibly heartened by the welcoming energy of the collective and by all the artists who came. Days later, a few artists reached out and let me know they’re going to be future guest artists DUE to the event! Here’s to more artist field trips to come.

I’m Sarah! I’m a local artist who has been putting her work - Mostly illustrative greeting cards! - out in the greater PNW for the past 17 years. I hate that there are barriers for new and emerging artists, and I wanted to make a guide just as much for me as for the rest of you.
